ABOUT Abi Moore

Impactful, gritty, and above all, brimming with conviction. Her stripped back, stomp and holler sound instantly took us to KT Tunstall, while her styling and rootsy, distorted Americana guitar twangs have a delicious White Stripes flavour.” RIGHT CHORD MUSIC

Abi Moore is a Roots-Rock / Americana / Alt-Folk artist from Nottingham. It’s almost a decade since the release of her 3rd, critically-acclaimed album – 10 years in which Abi experienced breakups, losing her home, lots of moving, touring, burnout and, eventually, a fresh comeback.

She began songwriting as a shy child from rural Lincolnshire, armed with a cassette recorder and the natural reverb of the family kitchen. As a teenager, she taught herself guitar and performed everywhere from Caffe Nero stores to Y Not, Maverick, Summer Sundae and Latitude festivals, to gigs across Europe & the US.

She supported 10CC, Big Country, the Coal Porters, Midge Ure and LAU. One summer, she played an astonishing 80 shows for Caffe Nero as their Artist of the Month (they play her music in-store to this day.) But the constant touring and personal upheaval led her to almost total burnout. After a month of soul searching in Canada, she decided to start a new life in Nottingham and concentrated on putting a roof over her head.

Storming back onto the scene with her most experimental work yet, her recent singles from the new album NO MORE CHASING have been featured on BBC Music Introducing radio shows across the East Midlands. BBC Radio Lincolnshire ran a campaign to play Abi’s first single “Livin’ Underground" every day on the week of its release, whilst her music videos have featured on Notts TV. She recently supported both The Longest Johns and New Purple Celebration at the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham and will play all over the UK in 2023.
